The Australian Institute of Landscape Designers and Managers have announced their national awards for 2013. Roogulli  is not the typical AILDM project - the other awards went to slick city gardens - so we were delighted to receive recognition for our design work:

  • Gold award for Residential Design under $50,000
  • Best in Category award for Residential Design under $50,000
  • Gold award for Environmental Design
  • Best in Category award for Environmental Design

One of the judges later commented that it is unusual to see permaculture design that also looks good. We wonder why this is so. We do know that our article Does permaculture have to be messy? is often accessed so there are others people wondering the same thing. As far as we can see, there is no reason why a landscape design cannot be both well designed and sustainable.
